July 2018 News

This has been a fantastic year so far for golf.  Our course is in immaculate condition from tee to green.  As we come into summer, and it looks like it's going to be a dry one, we will probably start having a few dry areas as we try to conserve water but we should continue to be the best overall conditions in the area.

We are currently back-filling soil around the new green-side pond on hole #7 and we will be laying sod very soon and doing away with the ground under repair relief.  The next project will be to sod in the bunker behind #4 green to make is a grass bunker and then we will tackle the renovation of the green-side bunker on #13.

Our director of golf, Adam Grosch, will be on The Texas Golf Insider Show on Thursday, July 26th at 7:00pm.  The show can be viewed on Facebook Live on The Texas Golf Insider page.  There will also be a link through our Facebook page (if you don't already follow us, click HERE)   If you miss the show that night, you can always view it later on Facebook.

Our weekly skins games on Fridays and Sundays start at  2:00 throughout the summer.  Your green fee and cart is just $35, plus $20 cash for the skins game. Anyone can play, just show up and be ready to make birdies.

Superintendent's Corner
The summer heat is here to stay. We have had high temperatures and no real rainfall to mention. We are trying to manage the drought conditions as best as possible. We will be verti cutting and topdressing as needed in the coming weeks. While verti cutting is slightly disruptive, it is a necessary cultural practice to help control thatch and grain control with our ultra dwarf Bermuda grass.
