Vaaler Creek Golf Club

This is quite the "winter" we're having.  Last week's storm brought us 4 1/2 inches of rain and filled up ALL of the ponds around the golf course.  The large pond at the pro shop came up 5 feet overnight and was flowing over the spillway.  The golf course is playing exactly the way that it was intended to with full water hazards, plush fairways, and beautiful smooth greens.  The online specials will be working their way back up next month with the upcoming season so take advantage this month and come play some magnificent golf.

We are doing something special for Super Bowl Sunday this weekend.  Kick-off on February 5th is scheduled for 5:30, so we are going to do a 10:00 shotgun start that morning which will be open to anyone so that everyone can get home (or to a party) with plenty of time.  We will do a special rate that day of $45.00 per person which will include the cart fees and taxes.  Call the pro shop to sign up.

This is the time of year to renew or start up your USGA GHIN handicap.  The annual fee is just $25.  If you currently have your handicap established with us please renew before February 23rd so there isn't a lapse in your service.  If you would like to start a new one or transfer your current handicap from a different course please let us know.
Golf Club Sale

For the last month or so we have been holding a great SALE on our inventory of golf clubs.  They have been picked through, but there are still some amazing deals on great clubs.  We will be ending the sale on Valentines Day, so come get a gift for your valentine (or yourself).  There is a large selection from Titleist, Adams Golf, TayorMade, Cleveland, and Ping.  Come by and get a great deal on irons, wedges, hybrids, woods, and putters!

Monthly Tournaments

Our monthly 4-person scramble for February will be on Saturday the 11th with a shotgun start at 11:00am.  The cost is $40 per player which includes: green fee and cart, range balls, a drink ticket, prizes for on-course contests, prizes for the top 3 teams, and food after the round.  Each player has the option for two mulligans at $5 each and each one comes with an additional drink ticket.  To sign up please reply to this email or contact the golf shop.  You can even sign up a partial team or as an individual and we will try to pair everyone up into foursomes.

This month also marks the beginning of our Ca$h For Cancer tournament series for 2012.  This is a 2-person scramble with cash prizes to the top teams and on-course contest winners.  The proceeds of this tournament each month go to the Thrivewell Cancer Foundation.  The cost is $50 per player which includes: green fee and cart, range balls, a drink ticket, and food after the round.  Each player must provide a legitimate handicap and each team will receive 20% of their combined handicaps off their score.  To sign up please reply to this email or contact the golf shop.

Stay and Play Packages

I'm sure that you've at least seen the outside of the condo complex as you're about to tee off on #10 (maybe you've accidentally even hit a ball that direction on #9), but if you haven't seen the inside of the condos yet you are missing out.  We have a few of the condos furnished for overnight stays.  It makes a great getaway for a couple or family and we have quite a few groups of 10-15 that make a golf vacation out of it.  CLICK HERE for more information and pictures.
